Eurythmy Therapy -  Individualized to your unique health needs

Uplifting Loving Gentle Guiding Self-Healing Power

Eurythmy Therapy

Eurythmy is the art of movement for our modern consciousness, born out of anthroposophy.  Indeed life is the harmony of rhythm. Eurythmy is a visible language expressing sounds and words through the movement of the entire being.

Eurythmy Therapy is an integral part of Anthroposophic medicine.  Eurythmy Therapy is a renewed form of movement therapy designed to address the human being as a whole, in body, mind, soul and spirit. Eurythmy Therapy harnesses the body's innate healing powers to overcome illness. As a systematic approach to health, Eurythmy Therapy therefore is beneficial for everyone in all types of illnesses.

The word "Eurythmy" comes from the Greek, meaning "harmonious rhythm". Through eurythmical movements, the goal is to restore rhythm and harmony in the body once again. The practice of Eurythmy can bring healing to all illnesses whether they be acute, chronic, or degenerative.

I offer Eurythmy workshops and classes and Eurythmy Therapy sessions to individuals and groups, both online and in person. Please contact me for more information.

How can Eurythmy Therapy benefit my healing?

Eurythmy Therapy uses the movements of the sounds of speech and tone which correlate with the organs and organ processes in our bodies. This can help restore health and bring new balance in these specific areas. Through practicing specific movements, the healing qualities of the sounds and tones work back on the body to restore health.

Eurythmy Therapy also works strongly in the soul and social realm, thus helping bring the inner and outer human being into balance. Through practicing these exercises, the part of us that holds the possibility for self-healing is activated and strengthened.

Some exercises involve movement gestures for letter sounds. For example, a movement gesture of “B” might be applied to help with addressing inner warmth, feeling a lack of protection, or disturbed kidney function; and a movement gesture of “M” might be used for better breathing and countering fear and anxiety. In the case of cancer, Eurythmy Therapy can help to enhance the warmth activity in the healing process, to bring lightness and uprightness, to harmonize the breathing, to help the soul back in touch with the meaning of life, while supporting the organ functions, especially of liver and kidneys for example.

Eurythmy Therapy in the world of healing

Eurythmy Therapy is currently practiced in private health practices, clinics, hospitals, centers for special education, and schools throughout the world, for conditions such as: ADHD, Allergies, Anxiety, Arthritis, Autism Spectrum Disorders, Back and Postural Problems, Cancer, Cardiac Support, Convalescence, Dental Irregularities, Depression, Developmental Disabilities, Diabetes, Digestive Disorders, Emotional Issues, Learning Difficulties, Stress and Fatigue, Trauma Recovery, and Women’s Health Issues. (Association for Therapeutic Eurythmy in North America)

Eurythmy Therapy helps to stimulate the life forces and bring “nourishment” to the soul. Specific movement exercises will be applied to help with breathing and exhalation, to release what one carries within as burdensome, to help the “I” to become a more active organizing force for the whole organism.

Eurythmy movement exercises are based on polarities of gravity-levity, centre-periphery, inner-outer, contraction and expansion, and more. These exercises can help bring more centeredness and calmness, and improve breathing both in the body and in the soul.

What happens in a Eurythmy Therapy session?

The therapeutic eurythmist will lead you through a series of exercises based on your individual health needs. The movement exercises will be taught standing, stepping, or seated, depending on the situation. These one-on-one sessions are usually 30 - 45 minutes. One Eurythmy Therapy treatment cycle normally consists of one to two sessions a week over 7 weeks. It is suitable for people of all ages and with different movement capacities.
